requesting pics of maaco paint jobs.
I have a teal eg hatch, and want it painted. I wanted s2000 black, but maaco doesnt offer many colors, im thinking either, diamond black, or phantom grey.
I would really like to see the phantom grey on a car, i did a search, and there was one car with the maaco phantom grey but the pics didnt work.
I went to maaco today and they gave me an estimate. They said it would be $530 for the presidential including body work(i have a few dents)
or $550 for the supreme w/out body work. So i think i'll just get the supreme.
Also i really want to prep my car myself to be sure it gets fully prepped as well for the experience, But im clueless on how to prep it. How do i make my car look like this?> http://www.we-todd-did-racing....D.jpg

3 words man.
Don't do it.
They use one stage paint which will fade in months
if not properly taken care of. Save your money
and get a base/clear paint job.
Just saving you much headaches maing.

This is very simple. Pick up a yellow pages. Find a Maaco near you. Get the directions. Show up and ask them to show you there book of cars that they have painted. boom d0ne!
yup maaco did it..... cost me $740 bucks its the one above presidential..its a Urethane package? plus my bodywork ( shaving trunk/ hood holes, atenna, random dents) ......might not be as nice as 3 stage paint or show paintjobs that cost like 2 grand+ ....but I was happy! my new project will definitely go to them again.. haters suck
both maaco single stage paint jobs. doesnt fade in a month. just take care of it and it'll stay clean.

dont mind the front bumper. its spray canned yO!

I'm actually about to take my ej8 to them to get it painted. For a 4 year warranty, pulling like 5 little dents, and respraying the entire car, they estimated $700.
Has anyone dealt with their warranties on their cars?

presidential package I think. one step below the base/clear. $470 w/ integrated clear. their bodywork SUCKS, but the paint is alright. I have a few chips but it still shines.

Most of the people on HT bag on maaco because they hear that someone say "maaco sucks" and the word spreads like crazy. If you've never tried it, don't bag on it. I had a maaco paint job and it turned out great. Just do your own prep and it'll be fine
imo.
maaco painters.. all they do all day is paint. so they have plenty of practice, which makes them good (in theory). the booth is constantly used. so it stays tacky, which means less dirt on paint.
prep work is a different story though. cause they are rushed to get the car ready for paint.
so if you do plan on taking th ecar to maaco i would recomend get the prep work done and remove everything you don't want painted.
