anyone know the manufacturer of this valve??
z10 dont make this... i believe its bought from another manufacturer, and i would like to know who, so i can call them about it.
Z10 dont answer their phone.
thanks for any help..
ive tried these so far.
jones race products
barnes
peterson
Exactly...
What is it?
What does it do?
Might help us locate a manufacturer for you or point you in the right direction.

its used in a wet sump or possibly a dry sump oil system, its a relief valve, "pop off valve" incase the pump isnt scavanging enough.
this particular valve, has an allen head "top" on it, and inside is a spring, and supposedly, to create more vacum, we need to put shims inside this "top", thus creating more spring pressure...... <---- this is what Jim @ Z10 told us about a year ago, when we purchased 2 oil systems off of them.
does anyone know of a better way to route our lines, possibly eliminating this valve?? maybe another way of creating more vacum @ high rpms, so we dont have this problem??
i have looked at jones race products, barnes, and petersons websites.. the closest thing i could find was the "pop off relief valve" that peterson manufactures, and they also manufacture a vacum pressure regulator. does anyone have any experiance with the vacum regulator that peterson makes?
we had the car out at the track yesterday,..... the pump creates 10 in/lbs vac at idle, but up at high rpms, the engine is simply making too much crank case pressure, thus opening the "relief valve" and pushing oil all over the engine bay.

So it's essentially a check valve, let's it make vacuum and will open with pressure? Peterson has a nice one, and they also have a vacuum relief valve, so you can't build too much vacuum. Peterson's check valve has a very large opening, which should slow the velocity of the exiting air, and help keep it from carrying out oil with it.

yes, that is exactly what its doing, it will close with vacum, and open if there is any positive pressure.
the valve uses 12an fittings, and has a rather large opening.
the problem is that our car is making vacum in the crankcase at idle/low rpms, but up at the top end of the track. the pump isnt creating enough vacum.... and its pushing oil out.
any recomendations?
thanks for the help guys
