Default Turbocharging my CRX

Hey
I´ve got a Crx with an D16z5 DOHC
Really itchy for a turbocharger.
Searched at Sportscompactonly.com and found a kit for d16a1.
U think it will work?

I have no idea what a D16Z5 is! I am not sure if it exists. However, you mentioned that it is a DOHC engine, and the only D-series DOHC engine was the ZC. Is that a D16z5?

If you are talking about the ZC dohc, then that is a great engine to turbocharge. You can piece together a hmt kit.

A kit for a d16a1 will fit any mpfi d16 (has same exhaust manifold, and nearly the same t-body placement). Eigher you have a ZC DOHC or a SOHC D16z6, either way it will work. The only reason it wouldn't work 100% is bacase the a1 is from an 86-87 teg, and I'm sure teh charge piping would be different. Regardless, the a1 swaps right into a crx, so I'm sure you'll be fine.

It swaps in, yes. But not right in. It is a really pain to get the A1 into the crx body, or so I have read. Its not the 'drop-in' like a z6 or ZC engine is.

As far as exhaust manifold and throttle body placement, those are probably the same.

you have a z5, it was only available in europe, thats why you confused the ppl above. like already mentioned too, everything should bolt up fine. its a d-series so the ex mani will work fine, it is very similar to the jdm zc.
