Default is my b16a1 and or computer from an automatic tranny or a manual?

i have a motor i got from jspecauto.com and i never knew whether or not they took the motor from an automatic and slaped it together with a manual trans. also the computer that riuning the car was kinda smashed but works. is there a way to figure out if the computer or engine was out of an automatic?

At what rpm does it rev-limit? The only way to tell if the engine is from an automatic is to look at the intake-side valvesprings. If they are single springs, then it's an auto motor. If you ecu cuts the rev before 8K rpm, you have an auto ecu.

there should be serial number on ur ecu that u can give to ur local honda dealer and they should be able to look it up and tell u if its a manual or auto ecu
