Well I am leaving around 12:00 from Gainesville to go down because I am doing Friday tech inspection. That puts me through before rush hour traffic. I would like to do the caravan again but don't know if everyone will want to leave that early.
I am staying at the Innkeeper in NC.

I've mentioned before that I'm heading down from the Philly area on Friday if anybody wants to meet up. I'm leaving Philly around 10, which would put us in DC around 12:30, and Richmond around 3 or so.

I am not going to Danville so I won't be in this caravan. I am staying in Oxford NC so I will be going the usual 95 to 85 to get there.

Yes, I-95 to I-85. I know there is a back road way from Richmond to Danville, but we are trailering and going through to NC, so I think we are just going to stick to the major roads.

Matt

Devil Chicken - you got a CB radio? I have two walkie talkies, but if we are doing a caravan thing with more than two cars, we need CBs to all stay in touch.

I'd like to meet up. I'm in Richmond ... are you guys planning to take 360 out to 58 to Danville?

Also, is anyone else staying at the Innkeeper in Danville or should I try to switch to NC? Hmmm...

Count me in for a "Richmond leg" anytime on Friday also. I also might have half an Innkeeper (Danville) room available if anyone needs it...

We usually take 85 straight through to 58. Is it faster to take 360 even if you are trailering?

Whomever is interested in meeting in Northern VA around 12 noon on Friday, IM me. I'll be leading a pack to Culpepper via Rt. 29. We will be taking Rt. 29 all the way down. Very nice scenic ride. Right George

I'll be at the Innkeeper West looking for Ceas's chick.

Which way would be quicker for me living in Lancaster, PA?

I81 south? Or I95 south?

Philly is about 1 hour drive. Baltimore is about 1 hour drive.

Are you far enough over to take I-83 down? If you've never gone there before, I recommend heading over east and caravaning down with me and devil chicken, I've been down there 4 times, so I know where I'm going. Besides, 8-9 hours is a LONG drive without anybody to talk to.

Dave, I think the best place to meet is at Fair Oaks Mall. It's right off Route 66 and close to Route 29. We can all meet at noon at the entrance where the UNO'S resturaunt is. We will then leave and meet up with Corey's group by 1pm via Route 29.

Ross, hope to see you there!

Cliff, I'll pick you up. This way you won't have to keep your car at my place.

Thanks,
Victor Perri II

Woo hoo! Competition at last!!!!!!!! Hopefully Dave won't suck TOO badly in my car.

Actually, I'm most worried about re-fueling times. If any of those cars have a fuel cell that allows for quick fueling, we're gonna be dead with our fuel jugs and narrow funnel. At least I get to race somebody though!

Guys,

If you are coming I95 through Richmond the best way to get to VIR is by taking 288West (comes in about 15 miles south of Richmond Downtown) to 360 W

288West to 360W
360W to 58 W
17 miles on 58W and look for VIR sign (I believe it is route 119s)

Do not do 150 to 360W. (too many lights on 360) 288 hits 360 further down and there are not many lights.

Peace,
Chris Cobetto

Good call, Chris. That is a very congested area nearly all the time... especially on a Friday afternoon/evening, I'm sure. Skip it at all costs... the 288 shortcut is geographically longer, but much faster because it's all highway, and it dumps you onto 360 around where civilization starts to dwindle...

apexkiller---yeah i got it in i think. I haven't gotten a fone call telling me otherwise so I guess I'm in. And I figured Chris would say something to you if I didn't make it on time. I'll try to get in to set something up again, but when we both have more time
