should i buy UGR?
i'm looking to get a full coilover setup while not spending too much. I just need something that will lower my car and not be super bouncy. It's just a street application.
Anyway I see that the UGR suspension has been discussed before. Some contraversy about whether or not they were telling the truth. Anyway theyre only 599.00 w/ free shipping and they are takign 10% off. My question is do you guys think it's a good buy?
Does anyone have these coilovers?
Does anyone remember a site that was offering free LCA's w/ the purchase of omnipowers? I duno..
Okay thanks. lol

the UGR stuff is no different than alot of the stuff out there. i've seen the stuff and it looks identical. its all made by the same people in taiwan. don't let people tell you otherwise.

You should be careful lumping all coilovers that come from Taiwan into one category. They are very different. The similarities are on the outside, but what matters is whats on the inside, and how they perform. Looks should play a very small role in choice of coilovers, but on H-T it seems to play a much larger one for some reason.
There are many people in Taiwan who produce coilovers, in different factories, to different damping rates, and with different materials and components.

I'll vouch for UNDERGROUND RACING....
bought the coilover sleeves.... they were sent out the next day, and i got em the day after that.
every email and question i had for jaime was answered promptly... (that day or the next day)
and that was about 10 emails
good customer service, quality products.

thanks for the support!
underground's goal is to provide quality products at the lowest prices. all these products are readily available in overseas markets, we act only as a buying co-op to bring those products here at a reduced price.
we want all our satisfied customers to be our dealers. our dealer program allows our customers/enthusiasts to make money by doing nothing more referring their friends to UGR. no overhead or inventory required. the more support we get from our customers, the more product we will bring over for CHEAP!

Let's consider what the Omnis are in the first place. They're a taiwanese product. They are not the > 1k jdm/euro coilover systems that are sought out by most extremists. So knowing that, what would be the point of UGR's attempt to "replicate" the Omnis? Wouldn't it have been better for them to copy jdm/euro coilovers?
I suppose we'll see soon enough with the shock dynos.

First off, if you look at the UGR vs Omni thread, you would know that the coilovers are now going for $499. Also, I think you should wait until VtecVooDoo dynos both the UGR and Omni setup---that way you know what the differences are (if any). Check out the thread in this forum.
I dont think they are 499. The website still says 599 w/ the 10 percent off.
I think he said 499 only if it's group buy w/ 5 people. I might just pay the extra 50 and buy the omni's afterall they already have a decent reputation.
Ehem... Now if the UGR's were 499, now that would be a different story... hint hint.

First off, its important to keep in mind that a product's country of manufacture has little to do with its overall quality and performance. Secondly, a lot of what you think is JDM is only JDM in name. Third, expensive /= quality.
So knowing that, you can answer your own question.
