protege with built motor with an awesome turbo kit. - *videos*
heres some videos of a protege with a built motor and the mental addiction motorsports thumper kit.
" Had a few runs today with one of my buddies with an 04 srt with stage 1 spiking to 19 psi holding at 14 psi. 04 srt's with stage 1 typically dyno at about 230-235 whp and a lot more tq.
My car right now as it sits is running 11 psi on a gt3037s/3 inch exhaust/ built motor/tubie mani etc.. with an upgraded fuel pump and flashed msp ecu for fuel . My afr's are right at 12.0 at 11 psi and these vids were the result.
On a side note, i also had a few runs with a brand new 2005 evo 8 last night. We were DEAD even on every pull we made. Those dyno about 230 to the ground as well, so i am assuming i am making about 230-240 whp right now on the thumper kit at 11 psi and stock ecu. The additional injectors are going in this week hopefully, and wil be tuned up for maybe 15-17 psi ( i hope safely). I expect close to 300 whp or so if i am able to boost to 15 safely, and beyond that, the turbo will really scream.

oh, and just to let everyone know, MAM will be working on a honda turbo kit in the near future. with all this protege goodyness going on, the honda kit is still being built/tested. but eventually, a kit will be out. all i can say is, from first hands experience, ive seen MAM's products, ive seen them run on the dyno, and i can vouche for the awesome quality these kits have. you've seen the progress with all these damn pics and videos ive posted.

yeah, mazdaspeeds are built for a track, come with awesome handling, quick spooling turbo... but they have no top end.
the drawback with the protege engine, is that its a weak peice of **** in stock form. a lot of protege owners have blown their motors running 2-5psi over stock. once built and setup with a nice fuel management solution, the fs-de is pretty nice.
