My car still dies
Alright, I started a thread about this earlier, but I cant seem to find the problem..
I am throwing CEL #15, ignition output. My car will intermittently(sp) die without warning, but sometime it will sputter, then die, or sputter, and not die at all. I would say about 80-85% of the time it happens when the engine isnt warmed up yet.
Now..my suspicions have been a wire grounding out, but if it were doing that, I would assume that the car would just cutout completely..without the sputtering. Now, about a month ago, maybe less, I installed Neuspeed spark plug cables and coil pack. My old crappy cables caused my coil pack to arc out. Here is my new theory: Would it be possible for the less resistant plug cables to somehow cause the ICM(ignitor) to go bad. The Haynes manual did tell me that if you replace one part in the dizzy, to replace all of them as well. Any ideas? My dad still thinks it is a wire grounding out, but I have no clue where to look. Im so confused..I cant even get to work sometimes, but somedays it drives like a champ once it is warmed up. It hauls ***** when it is running, and I checked all my plugs and they are burning good...despite the fact that they are bosch platinums.
Im stumped

ya..I thought it might have been that at first, like I bought bad gas or something, but I dont think it is. It doesnt throw that particular code, and I just put some Lucas oil engine/fuel system treatment in it. No improvement as of yet.
Im going to try replacing the ignitor, but I really dont want to buy a new one for 90 bones at napa or autoshit.
