how do you tell if a hood is made by seibon? is there a badge

yeah there is a shiney badge under the hood, probably to the left of the latch, that says SEIBON.
P/S (have one on my DA, and looks better than VIS)

yeah there is a badge, i just got mine and i love it.. it looks better then any other CF hood i have seen
