I did not perform valve clearance on 5th gen V6 yet, but however I did it on 5th gen 4cyl before. If you never do it before, then I suggest do not attempt to try. You have to get use to the feeler gauge, put the engine at TDC, etc..., basically you have to know what are you doing period. Tight the valves can't not be too tight, too loose, blah blah blah. It is not a hard job but also can be one at the same time. On V6 I could imagine there will be more work than 4cyl. The valve clearance job will cost you from $50-$100 depend on where you go. Good luck!

5th Gen V6 valves are not adjustable, they are just noisy at high milage. I had an 88 Legend coupe with the same engine, and my valves got clacky when the motor was cold. there are some additives youcan put in the oil, or use a synthetic blend oil that helps, and lastly ive heard of people replacing valves and springs but that is costly

Are you sure they are not ajustable??? I don't believe that. Tell me if when you drop the cams in, the clearance is out of spec, what could you do?

They use hydraulic tappets that auto adjust the clearance.
