Default Installed H&R Coilovers, car is higher than before???

I just got done replacing my current suspension with some H&R coilovers (adjustable ride height, set damping), and my car is HIGHER than before. I was tucking about half an inch before, and with my H&R coilovers screwed down further, there's like a 1.5" wheel gap! wtf? is there something that I'm missing here? Anyone else have this problem?

they can, but I figured out the problem... the front strut and the fork that connects to the LCA weren't properly set. I fixed it. Still kinda bummed about the drop, it's a pinch higher than it was on my bootleg coilovers. Maybe after things "settle" it'll get a little lower, which is what I want. The suspension itself is eons ahead of that bootleg **** though

this may sound like a dumb question, but are you sure you installed the front coilovers in the front and the rear ones in the back? i've read several threads where people had accidentally installed them reversed and ended up raising their car instead of lowering it.

I have H&R Coilovers....when set low, it literally slams your car to the ground. I have mine set right above the tires and THAT was a bitch to do with the heavy preload. It takes mad elbow grease to wrench those puppies up.

**** YEAH it does!! I got a crazy *** workout just trying to screw them down. I got a question for you though, does your front strut meet the fork at the welded piece? Is it supposed to be up there? I couldn't get it up that high, I tried pushing it as far as I could... maybe I'm too weak
