Anybody out there know of a good D16-VTEC cam for use with F.I.?? I've faintly "heard" of WebCam of something like that, anybody hear of this or know where to check them out??

 

I would have Crane cams grind u a custom one made for ur setup, If its made for your setup then you usually get the most out of it.good luck

 

i spoke to zex, and they said that their cam is supposed to help alot. it provided a dyno proven 11 whp

 

This is with boost??? damn not bad, I'll have to give that some consideration..

 

i read about the zex cam.. i thought it was for a NA car???

 

Yes the zex camshaft is for a n/a car. so I dont think it would help with some boost, who knows zex might make a turbo cam. but i dont know

 

i asked specifically if it could be used w/ a turbo honda. and the zex representative said "yes". it would help a turbo car. It's even used w/ their 75 shot equiped hatch. It took .3 seconds off of the quarter mile. go to www.zex.com and see for yourself. the stock hatch runs 13.3 in the quarter.

I'm sorry sir, but since I am a highly trained and experienced mechanic, I will have to tell you the truth that this cam will probably only give you one horsepower and would be a waste of your money.

That's what those sales people should say!!

 

i'd really get everything i need before a cam....maybe a cam gear...but not the cam...thats really a fragile thing to work and pick out.....they just want u to spend the $$$ on the cam and then u say DoEs AnYoNe KnOw WheRe I CaN GeT SoMe StRObE LiTEZ AnD LiGhT uP WiNdShiElD NoZzLeS?? it let me just keep it...it gave me 1-2 hp..they benifit our ignorance

hey, relax. i'm just passing along what was told to me. calm down and have a

 

JG makes a good turbo cam. I had a friend that installed a JG turbo cam in his d16z6 and made like 25hp on his 12psi greddy turbo boosted engine. Thats pretty awesome gains from just a cam on a d-series motor.

He highly recommends it. The only downside is see with the cam is its a reground. Although i used a reground cam for 60k miles and when i pulled it out it looked pretty bad..but the cyl head was fine. Im not complaining...

Yea but that's why I don't want a reground.. 60k miles later and it's back to stock
