well lets take this a step further guys. Can we include cost ratio in this whole equation. From my stand point, ok, another low mileage F22 with transmission and install, give or take, ceiling price, 1500. A used H22, with low to moderate mileage, about 3500 with install.

Now, for the 2000 price difference what can be had with that and what kind of power can it produce for the F22 motor?

Just wanted to make this slightly more interesting, and of course, for my own general knowledge, thanks.

/\ the biggest thing you run into is head flow...lets face single cams are not the weapon of choice to NA. You can however swap a f22b (dohc) head on a f22b1/2 or a h23 head or h22 head. This way you retain your low budget and only having to upgrade the head to make more power. This being said NA will cost you a lot of money especially if you want it to run right AND last.

My suggestion to you is to find what you want to do and make a budget. Realize that NA is going to almost triple your cost for power as opposed to FI. If you want to stay NA and SOHC...I highly doubt you will ever see 250whp. BUT it can be done...one of the fastest NA motors is sohc and is a f22; all of this of course took time, money and r&d.

Biggest thing I would suggest to you if you want to stay sohc NA is let that motor breathe with a new cam, higher compression, bigger throttle body (or ITB's) and full exhaust (header, race cat, cat back exhaust). Obviously the need to build the entire engine is there and I would suggest it highly to get the most out of your motor. GL and may the search be with you.

edit your engine isn't a v16...its a 16 valve 2.2L sohc (f22b series) motor .

not that i disagree, but check out the newest issue of sport compact car...Ezerioha builds an f22 to rev to 9400 which makes 340hp at the wheels...****** sick ****...

I did a simple upgrade to mine. To F22A6, (still looking for the best manual trany). Was very happy with the higher RPM and faster responce. Been threw some tires already due to wheel spins at take off.

Still going to keep mine all motor. Not finished yet with the changes, but happy with they ones I have seen so far. If your looking to take things over factory set look in the all motor area and you will find loads of answers.

P.S. F22A6 motor ran me $250, Trany from F22A4 ran me $125, ECM ran me $35, Wiring ran me $20 = total so far $330

Still WTB: High end cam, upgrade lifters, underdrive pullies, Alum. Fuel rail (AR, AEM, or simular), Better header (or might do full cat system), FI, High out put Alt. 120 - 200 amp., alum. radiator, and still building the list.

Oh I know it CAN be done...but sometimes you have to examine your budget and see if you can afford spending ~10-15K-plus on a NA f22. I just got my scc issue and will be looking over the article .

Got the motor F22A6 out of a 1992 Accord EX-R w/ only 52K miles on it. Seeing as my 91 body has over 200k on it. Time to get to those blemishes also
