I'll be buying an optima red top battery and relocating it to the trunk this week (preparing for b16). Which red top do i need? part #?

Heres what i will be buying.......4G stranded wire for power and ground and an 8G from the starter to the fusebox.

Do i need an in-line fuse for the power cable? If so, what specifications?

ps - i know im asking alot of questions but i really want to do this swap good and clean. My hatch has had a long life of driving miles (252k) and i think she deserves some love I'll probably be asking more questions pretty soon when it comes down to swap time, but i will make sure i do a search before any questions! Bare with me fellow EF drivers!!!

 

get any optima redtop your putting it in the trunk your gonna have to make custom mounts anyway

just make sure it has enough cranking amps

 

what cranking power do i need? everything else sound okay? I know i need to mount it in the hatch, i'll figure that out.

 

I bought one of those marine battery boxes they have at autozone, comes with mounting hardware and straps. Everything else sounds fine. Doesn't take much to crank up a b16.

 

which one of these would work best for my application? b16a1 in 91 si.
