Default lowering springs on stock EP3 struts?

i was a drop no more than 2inch but no less that 1.5inch. I am thinkin about the eibach pro-kit or maby the sportline, or maby some tien s-tech. i want a stiff ride but don't want to get new struts. how do the stock stuts handle the pressure of a spring like that on an 04 ep3. i hav kyb agx and ground contoles on my 99 ex and i like it. and does anyone have any pics of lowered ep3 and how much they are lowered? thanks

I had some Spoon Progressive springs on stock shocks on my ep3 and it didnt work too well. It handled great and all but if I drove over a pothole or any bigger irregularity in the road it felt like I drove over a small land mine. It just wasnt really able to absorb any shock. Im hoping to get some Tokico HP shocks installed with my Spoons in the future as this should help.

If you go with the Pro-kits, the stocks should last you a while. But if you go with the sportlines, you will need to replace them quicker. In the end, you will need to get some aftermarket shocks anyway. My EP is tucked on stock shocks w/ ground controls. I'm planning on buying Koni's soon. I don't have pics as of right now.

I have Tanabe sustec df210 springs with stock shocks. Its a 2 inch drop. I've had this for somewhere close to a year now. They have held up but I would suggest you get aftermarket shocks asap. The trimmed bumpstops have been destroyed. With stock wheels and tires this setup is just tucking.

so, why not WAIT until you have the struts to install the springs? do it twice?

it's really not a good idea to lower the car on the stock struts.

what's better? looking good or blowing the struts, losing control of the car and wrecking? potentially hurting someone other than yourself.

do it once, do it right.
