Who wouldn't want a new motor.
However, it depends on what that bit of satisfaction is going to cost!

If you were shopping for a caR, which car would you pick, the one with the new or 70K motor?
I can think of a few advantages of the used motor...
-- Proven
-- Probably makes more power now that the bearings, rings, etc. are a little looser
-- If you "really" think this is a collectors item, you might care.
-- Easier to explain to cops why VIN doesn't match.
All those reasons are weak. Get the new motor.

The only reason I would think of not putting a new motor in is because down the road the car would be worth more with the original engine, but that's not a very good reason.

I was looking at my motor the other day and I noticed that it had a 'DOT R' marking on it. I know it is a replacement motor but does the 'DOT R' designation specify that it is a replacement? I've never seen that marking on any original motor.
I just went with a brand new ITR long block, cant beat the warranty
