vacum help
i just finished installing a new master break cylinder in my car(94 dx civic hatch).
i followed the instruction on the haynes booklet.
1. " depress breaks with engine off ''
2. " turn engine on for 1 to 2 min. and pump the breaks slowly"
3. '' when turning engine off depress on the breaks. if break pedal stay its normal position when depress then the vacum is airtight. "
thats where it goes wrong... when i turn it off the break pedal pushes back...thats not normal. also my car idles on and off. in the engine bay the vacum hose is sucking air and working fine. when i plug the hose with my finder it stops idleing and stays at 1000 like normal but i cant leave it like that because it stops the break booster so that i would have to apply to the break pedal even more. what is wrong?
