Default Questions about the infamous B17A1....

Ok so i was wondering what type of intake manifold and exhuast manifold pattern the b17a1 uses (90-93 GSR).

I want to buy some stuff for it but im not sure if im looking for a b18 manifold or a b16 manifold or what.... and if it is a b18 or b16 does that apply to both intake and exhuast?

Any input is appreciated...

It's the same headcast as the B16 and B18C5 heads. All the parts are interchangable between the three.

uhh no... the intake manifolds are not interchangeable.. i had a 92 gsr.. you have to get one specific for that motor.. the 94+ gsr's have the dual runner IM's and they are not interchangable either... a type r manifold may work with some mods but im not absolutely sure

the b17 has a b16 head on it...just like the b18c5 motor also has a b16 head on it... (for the most part)

Thats what I thought. I thought the IM were interchangeable between the B16/17/18c5.

I thought the same goes for the exhaust manifold as well. I know we took a header off a B18c1 and put it on a B16 and a B18B without any problems. We dont touch the B17 too often....

get a itr or a skunk2 intake mani. your choice of exhaust manifolds are nearly unlimited.
