Default Exhaust Speed

Does anyone know how to measure exhaust speed and or the Exhaust speed of our H22s?

Default Re: Exhaust Speed (crj_lll)

This is how you could mathematically calculate exhaust speed.

A=Cross sectional area of exhaust piping
V=Exhaust Velocity
M=Volumetric Flow rate
N=Engine RPM/60
D=2.2L displacement

For a given RPM, this is the formula to calculate exhaust speed.

V=M/A=D/2*N*1/A

Make sure you use the right units!

This yields an average exhaust speed, but remember that the exhaust gases flow in pulses. 2 pulses per engine revolution for the H22.
