BATTERY LIGHT

not really. thats probably another problem.
to the ones with the "battery" light coming on, its not a "battery" light, per se (god i hate that term), but its called the "charge warning light" and it does NOT indicate the condition of the battery, but simply the voltage regulator, which is integral to the alternator. so if the charge warning light comes on, youve got a problem with your alternator/voltage regulator. not your battery.
