Default Length difference between 4th and 5th Gen headers??

Hey all,

I have a 4th Gen and I have an issue with the length of my exhaust system. Well, I have a Carsound high flow cat but the place that I bought it from welded the flanges in the incorrect location. Anyway, the cat is too long. I have the 4th gen downpipe connected but it is a VERY tight fit. In fact, it is too tight where the flexpipe is being bent.

My question is, does anyone know if I can use the downpipe from a 5th Gen?? If so, which one would be approx. 1.5" shorter than my 4th gen downpipe??

I know that the Type SH downpipe is longer than the Base, but is the Type SH downpipe shorter than the 4th Gen??

Andy

hmmmm....well you could just take the rubber holders over that middle pipe section off, so it could move a little farther back to give some room for now....

im not even sure that 5th gen downpipes will bolt up to the 4th manifold...but im sure somebody knows....

For 1.5" I would just try to finnagle the stock pieces into place.

IIRC, on my H22A4 header on my stock exhaust, the H22A4 header came up about 6" short.
