Default Old R owner meets new...

Thats it, I'm out. Thanks so much for a great 4+ years but it was time for something new due to my high-highway miles driving, lack of racing, desire for more amenities and wanting something different.

The best alternative for me as a blending if what I wanted and was used to... BMW 325Ci... after driving a VERY diverse group of cars (Z06, Caddy Deville, EVO, Civic Si, Lincoln Continental, Rx8, 350Z, etc). I ended up with somthing that fit me and my payment ideas.

The new owner of 01-761 is a Honda-Tech regular, Integra94ls.

Thanks much over the years to my best friend and fellow former R owner goern-R... he'll be around on the S2K forums with his new car.
Thanks to Onyx, a good friend local to AZ and Honda-Tech.
Thanks to Rodney for hooking me up with info and my first mod, that Spoon header.
Thanks to all who helped over the years.

The new owner with 761...

My newness...

Take care folks, and Thanks so much for everything.

Any reason why you went with a lack luster car like the 2.5 motor 3 Series?

good luck.

Cushy, great highway car, good mileage, nice in stop and go.

Good luck with the Bavarian.

For the reasons he posted I think he picked the right car. He doesn't want to race, wants a comfortable car, and it wont kill his wallet. Seems logical to me.

I'd recommend something like a TL then.

I wouldn't call it "lack luster"... it's fun to drive, different than an ITR or any other Integra, but not "lack luster".... I'd say that on an avg day, my 325i is as quick as my GS-R was. :shrugs:

Wow, well I guess I can still talk to you.

So now when I ask for you at work, will the girls say, "Oh, the guy with the Ci?"

good luck robert! thanks again for that deal a LONG time ago. i wouldn't mind having a 325 so much. less headaches for theft, much more comfortable, etc. pop your head in here once in a while.

i'd recommend bimmerforums.com for your bimmer needs, if you haven't already done so.

kepani-who sees the transition of old owners to new owners month by month.

I popped in again since H-T is a tough habit to break... and as mentioned, the theft factor helped my decision as well. Remember, my best friend's R was stolen 3 weeks ago?
Anyway, to answer a bit... the car certainly does not perform like the R, no comparison. However for a daily driven, 50 mile round trip to work on the highway I really do enjoy the cruise, climate control, sound deadening, sun roof, etc.

Kepani, forgot to mention you in my "thanks" from earlier... your advice has been helpful more than once!

Rob, sorry to say, but the 2.5 isnt lack luster. It might not have the power of the 3.0 but a very nice platyform and nice and smooth car. I had a 325IS before my ITr and loved it.

Matter of fact Im working numbers on a 2000 Red 328CI as we speak.

Yea they are a bitch to work on and they scare me , but I love them.
Those lackluster 3 series though make up the majority of BMW's sales believe it or not.
M3's are optimal, but IMO, not something I would want to DD , esp in the North East winters, and good luck finding them unbeat and without miles
