Default Wil @ Exospeed.com ignores me. I paid him $1250 more than 2 months ago.

The short version: Wil @ Exospeed.com owes me $1250 or my set of wheels and slicks and ignores my PMs and emails.

First of all... I have been very reluctant to post this, but at this point I see no other way to find a solution. Wil @ Exospeed ignores my emails and PMs, so what else can I do?

I ordered a set of Bogart wheels and slicks and paid with paypal on March 8th.

Before I paid him, I asked if the wheels were on backorder, and was told that they were a "custom order" and would take 3-4 weeks to make. Then, 4 weeks later I ask Wil if they are about to ship and he tells me that the wheels are still backordered. (What?!?!?!) I had to send several emails and PMs to get this response from him.

At some point in all this he offers me a refund. I decline, because he tells me that Bogart told him, that they would have the wheels done in 2 weeks.

More than 3 weeks have passed since then, and at this point I just wan't my money back. So many broken promises, and I really don't wan't to do business with someone who ignores me.

I have sent Wil a money request from paypal, sent him PMs and emails and still no response. It took him less than 24 hours to answer any question I had before I paid!

I understand that he is dependant on Bogart and that they may be giving him promises they don't keep, but I really don't think you can treat a customer like he is treating me. He tells me that he will give me a refund if I wan't and then ignores my requests for a refund??? He ignores my PMs and emails???

With this post I hope that other H-T members will help me out and tell him to give me a refund. Hopefully he will understand that future orders may be dependant on how he chooses to handle this.
I also wan't to warn other H-T members about his ways of doing business. He is so fast to reply before you pay, but after that, he just ignores you. That is what he does to me, at least...

So, before you place an order with exospeed.com please tell him to pay me back before you order.

it sounds like it's a problem on Bogart's side not on Exospeed you might want to send Wil this link and have him explain himself

I sent him the link just after posting. I also told him that I would make a post about this situation if he kept ignoring me.
As I wrote in the post. I understand that he depends on Bogart, but that doesn't make it right to ignore me, or my request for the refund he offered.

Supplier delays are one thing, but not responding to paying customers is just <u>inexcusable</u>.

probably another case of laziness. now that they have your money they will take their sweet *** time to resolve the situation. hopefully this person will chime in with an explanation or just refund you your money. shitty customer service sucks

In no way have we ignored your emails. we have replied a few times regarding the situation. we do apologize that some days we can't reply to emails promptly and takes a couple days. Imagine we get about 50 emails throughout the day and since Wil is the main person who knows most of the detailed information here, he usually has to answer most of them.
Bogart had delays. We had ordered the wheels but they are not done yet. They stopped production since they relocated to another state. So manufacturing wont resume I assume for a couple weeks to get the machines setup and ready to go.

Learning from this situation, we are not doing anymore custom orders for wheels at this time. If we dont have it, then you'll have to wait until it arrives. What well do is first come first serve on wheels that we get made. Keep in mind Bogart wheels are ALL custom ordered and takes 4-5 weeks anyways.
Either that or we wont offer ITR lug pattern anymore. Just 4x100 wheels only.

We'll gladly refund your money. Unless you want us to ship the slicks already without the rims and you can get the wheels elsewhere.

Yes you have answered a few times, but I have sent several emails and PMs to get an update and have received no response until now.
I honestly don't care about why you don't answer my PMs, emails or why you haven't responded to my paypal money request. All I have noticed is that you don't answer them anymore. Before I paid, you answered very quickly.
Please refund my money.

When I declined the refund a few weeks ago, I did so because I was told the wheels would be ready in 2 weeks.
Now I am just fed up with broken promises and just wan't my money back.

You know you guys, from my standpoint:

1) Custom orders are a bitch. No matter what. "2 weeks" usually mean "from 1-3 weeks", "6-8 weeks" can mean "anywhere from 4-9 weeks." There really is nothing that we can do to give you an exact week date on stuff like this.
2) Does not sound like exospeed is totally wrong here. DanishR, you would have gotten your wheels eventually. It sounds like a matter or patience and principle for you, which is respectable. But patience and principle usually get beat-the-hell-up on in custom order deals.
3) You guys are really quick to crucify here...customer service is very important, but it is also difficult to be the 110% best service for everyone every day. Especially when Honda-Tech members literally DEMAND discounted pricing. Send an email. Wait a few days for a response. Give us some credit. We are working for you while we are not clicking send-receive in outlook, or refresh on the browser.

Totally neutral post....not trying to ruffle feathers. Just giving another point of view from the vendor's side of things.

Yes Custom orders arent as easy as stuff that everyone has off the shelf. Most of the vendors here sell stuff that they can pick up at a distributor locally or have on hand since they are basic parts.

We do alot of custom wheels, custom ordered Bisimoto headers, Custom built race engines, to custom head work. We do the stuff that others dont know have extensive knowledge about and dont even use themselves. While even giving a great price to HT members. And we're still willing to ship and work with customers Internationally.
I know customers want to get the part ASAP, but sometimes we're just not in control of that. We're changing our policy to limited discount on Custom orders from now on. A service that we liked to offer to customers who had a hard time finding for uncommon lug and offsets is just biting us in the ***. We have orders for ITR 5 lug, different backspace, Miatas, Subarus, even for Supras and SKylines. So its not like we take an order for 2 minutes and thats it. We discuss fitment and clearances for an hour sometimes to get the right part. Is it worth it for us? What do you think Marcus?

I think one thing you are overlooking is that when you(vendors in general) says custom order that takes 3-4 weeks you are aware that it could very well be 8+ weeks, but the customer who is told 3-4 weeks, expect it to take no longer than 4 weeks, and makes plans accordingly.

What Exospeed should have done was to tell me that they could not tell me exactly when the wheels would be ready. Ususally it takes 3-4 weeks but it could be more than 2 months, they should have told me.

In that case, I would have found some different wheels, because I needed these before a certain date.

Also, what you describe as "Send an email. Wait a few days for a response" is NOT what exospeed has done. They simply ignore my PMs and emails and also my request for the refund they offered.

exospeedAMcrx: You should not give the customer the impression that you can ship the order out after 4 weeks, when you are not certain you can. You should also not ignore me. I don't see how it is relevant to this thread that you do Bisimoto headers, custom build race engines and so on... How can you find the time to post all that, when you can't find the time to pay me back? I have not received my refund yet??? Please send it.

we had a situation where a certain rims, took almost 6 months to get. but i think that the only reason that the customer was not mad, is that we told him ahead of time it would take a while to get, did not take his money till we were sure and had a eta, and we were in contact with him the whole time. every email was answered within a day or 2.

Just be patient you will get them. I bought my Bogarts through Exospeed also, yes they did take a while, but I already knew that since they were custom order. It did take like 2 months or so, but I got them. They are very cool people. Not there fault on this situation.

I already wrote several times by now that I agree that the delay is not their fault.

What is unacceptable is that they ignore my emails and PM asking for an update, and have been doing that for weeks. They also said 3-4 weeks and I made plans because they said it wouldn't take more than 4 weeks. They did not tell me it could take longer.

I have been patient for a long time now.
They have promised me alot of things. None of it happend. Like this refund they are offering. I haven't received it. Come on Exospeed: Pay me back!
