block gaurd
how do you guys feel about those block gaurds taht fits in between the cylinder walls and block? it it worth the effort putting it in. i remember a few years ago when those were the talk but why are they dissapearing and making ways for full resleeve combination gaurds thingy? i notice only entry level manufactures (such as apc) are the only ones offering them anymore. i could be wrong.
from what i have heard, the pistons put out more pressure in the middle of the cylinder wall then at the top. some engine builders actually drill holes onto the block and use short bolts to help reinforce around the cylinder wall at the middle. or so i heard in formula one. my thought is, why not get a block guard and have it pushed all the way down to where the most stress is exerted instead of just leaving it flush at the top.

sure it could i have an ls vtec with cams that make power to 9500 rpm im not finsihed yet but the ls sleeves were designed to go to 7500rpm not 9500 thats why im using one along with having my sleeves posted a crank girdle shot peened rods arp mainstuds and arp rod bolts along with a balanced and bluprinted bottom end
i know thats alot more than most people do when they build lsvtec but i dont want my sleeves to crack or crank to run away on me lol
