Help with manual tensioner
I have an H23 with the manual tensioner (obviously) and I need some help getting my timing belt tight. I followed the steps in the Helm's manual, and this didn't work. It seems tight at some points in the rotation, but others, it seems pretty loose between the two cam gears. My belt is also starting to wear out faster than it should because I think that it is hitting something because it's loose. In the Helm's manual it says to do the tensioning technique with the engine aligned at TDC, but this is where the belt is tight, should I try this NOT at TDC where it is loose to see if that helps or must it be at TDC? Also, how exactly do you perform the "coat hanger" trick, and what has to be removed in order to do this? A detailed walkthrough, or somewhere to find one would really help. And how much would Honda charge to properly tension the belt? I know that's a lot of questions, but any help is appreciated, thanks.
