hiding the muffler

Default hiding the muffler

i got a 91 crx thats extremly low to the ground. the muffler sits about 2 inches off the ground, is there anyway to tuck it up higher so its at least 4 inches from the ground, i was thinkin about cutting out the spare tire compartment and sheet metaling it then i could tuck it up under there, any ideas???

Cut out the muffler completely and use a different muffler.

Or..... :-)

Cut the spare tire compartment out and make it flush. That should give you some extra space to tuck a muffler.

Tucking the muffler sounds like a great idea!!! I remember a friend of mine (back in the dayz) hid his muffler my cutting the gas tank in half. Pretty cool...you don't see anything from the rear of the car. I don't know about doing that, though...I guess it depends if you take long drives or not. Let us know how everything comes out!!

just cut a hole in the reaar of the hatch and let it shoot straight up into there. just change the muffler. go to your local shop and have them put in an actual muffler (im assuming your running a ricer tip) and then have them turn it out behind the drivers door or passengers door or even in the stock spot cause it would be a huge tip hangin out there.
