I've been reading some topics on getting the GC for Koni Yellows. Lots of people are suggesting these rates and I was wonderin if anyone actually has these rates and can give me some feedback. Right now I am running they yellows with comptech springs and I want something that can go a bit lower and also go a little stiffer.

I use my car mainly as a daily driver but am looking to go to a track day since my buddies have been hounding me to go with them. If anyone can give me some input on these two choices that would be great. For example, how much difference is there between 350 and 400 up front? Which would be a better balance for a beginning driver. Also would 200 installed for the coils be about right?

 

200 installed? meaning you are getting GC coils for 200 w/ install. if so thats a hell of a deal. regarding your question about 350 and 400 in the front. i say go with the 400. why? because stiffer is better. and stiffer you are up there, the less sway you have. definatly do not be concerned with ride quality (don't know if you were). from my experience, the rear is what provides a harsh ride. in ride quality, i can not tell much of a difference between omnipower full (530) and tein s-tech/ DZ shocks (333) in the front. because one varialbe remained constant, omnipower full coils (380) in the rear... plus 23mm rear sway. right now, i am running the the tein fronts with omni rears. the rear end doesn't move while cornering, consequently, the front DIVES. which puts a lot of weight, stress, and traction to the front outs tire. the handling is pretty accurate, but i will soon be switching back to the omni fronts, i have just been busy

 

Naw it is just 200 for the install haven't got the price on the actual gc's yet. Ya I was leaning towards the 400 since I thoguht I might as well just get it stiffer so I won't have to do it again. Kind of like how I am looking to replace the comptech springs right now. It is like throwing money away replacing stuff. Also need to get a new cat maybe exhaust and get engine rebuilt. Cars are such a waste of money, lol.

 

amen to that. however, modifying a car give me satisfaction. i like buying something, installing it, and reaping the benefit.

 

yea, thats a 200 dollar waste of money. Go spend 20 bux for some spring compressors and do the job yourself over a weekend if you have to.

 

i have 300f 400r. They are a good place to start for spring rates, but that is my opinion. It is really hard to tell someone what spring rates they should get. Looking back on it now, I wish I would have gone stiffer, but when I bought these spring rates I really did not know what I was getting into.

If you don't mind a stiff ride, I might think about 400/500
