d15b7 head gasket

Does anyone know if you have to deck the block in order to install a new head gasket on a d15? since the head gasket has to be scrapped off?

It is not ALWAYS necessary to have it resurfaced, however you do need to check the head to make sure it is flat within the specs for that engine. You should be able to check it with good straight edge and a feeler guage.
