Default FRAM: EXTENDED GUARD OIL FILTERS 7k MILES INTERVALS?

Hey, I just bought a couple of Fram Extended Guard Oil filters which cost almost 10 bux each. On the display box it says protection for 7k miles. I usually change my filter with oil every 3k religiously but if i can use a filter that'll last 7k, i'll pay that little extra. Does that 7k only mean the filter and not the oil, thus change the oil at 3k but not the filter till 7k? Or change the oil and filter at 7k since the filter is doing such a good job? Anyone ever tried it? Thanks

I don't mean this as a smart ***, but Allah/Buddah/Jesus (your pick) himself could be filtering my oil and I would still change the oil and him every 3000 miles. I'll be going turbo soon, then I plan on doing it every 2000. That's just how I am.

Honda filters on ebay for $4-$5 each when buying 10 or more. Great deal especially when you have 3 Hondas to support.

Ok there are many threads about this, so i recemond a search, but here is what i remember. Some of the honda filter are made by Fram. Some are made by other's (hamp?)

Lots of people do not like the fram filter due to the cardboard antil flow back thing. I guess people feel that the cardboard could break down. Personally i have been running a Fram filter on my teg and my wifes 4runner with no problems. I change her oil about every 3000-5000 depending on the driving. My car gets it done at most every 3000mi
