I assume in a HB.

11.5:1 compression bottom end. 75.5mm bore
Headwork with upgraded valvetrain. Street/Strip camshaft
Edelbrock intake manifold, Bisimoto header.

that'll get some good times and a good chance into the 13s.

Spend a ton of $ and you're there. This is Brian, by the way. What I say means nothing.

Also, I have never heard of a 13 second allmotor SOHC that is not a light car to begin with and is not gutted to the bone. Forget the A/C, subwoofer, junk on the floor, etc.

what are you talking about, hatchs ant that much heavier than a crx. and as for the a/c, power stiring and some other guted pieces, that just dead weight to me. It all came off with the swap. 13s in a hatch with a d16z6 is perfectly plausable, its just a matter of how to do it.

I'm DEEP into the 13's ALL-MOTOR, but the car weighs about 1825 lbs (without driver). I ran 13.9's a year ago with P29's, Zex cam, and Skunk manifold, weighing about 1900 lbs (without driver). So 13's is not too hard to run.

Just as I said. My point is that you will NEVER run 13s with an allmotor D-series in, say, a 1997 Civic EX sedan.

I was talking with a buddy of mine the other day and he was telling me about people building hybrid zc motors. I dont know how many people have tryed it but the idea is that you but zc pistons into, say a d16a6 (88-91 si motor) and it raises the compresion to 12. I was thinking that this could be a good platform to start with for a all motor single cam. does anyone else have any imput.

Gearing owns the D. Go 4.7 or 4.9.

I'll be running 13's in my 96 DX hatch with full interior before the year is over.

Go ahead and quote this when you laugh at me, so I can come back and laugh at you.

I'm thinking tons of headwork, GSXR 1000 ITB's, and a custom header to start with. P29 pistons and a custom ground cam wouldn't hurt either.

If you're talking about mine...

D16Y7 straight up, no mini-me
79mm bore
12.5:1
some special headwork I'm not going to talk about
cam (will be available to the public after testing is finished)
Weber ITB's
custom SMSP header
some gearing

good replys. glad to hear of some proud d-series drivers out there. I intend to use some p29s in the next motor that I put tgether. I want to run an a6 head on a 1.5 block that I just got out of my friends garbage. I love free stuff that perfectly good. anyone have any heads up for me on this prodject? let me know what you think. the 1.5's out of a crx.
