Default One more of these D series tranny questions...

I know you all will say search but I need this answer here for myself...

I have a 1990 Honda CRX DX with a DOHC ZC. I need an SI tranny(dx isnt cutting it). I found a junkyard that has an 89 SI tranny, 50 bucks..

But then I read here that 90-91 SI trannies are the only ones that work. So will it or wont the 89(or can i make it work at all, without buying a whole new clutch assembly) work with the 90-91 clutch?

I am gonna go check some more places to get an 90-91 SI tranny. Also is there any way for me to see if the tranny is 90-91? Like a little code on it. L3xxxxxxxxx or anything?
