crank shaft gear????
whats up i need to know if anyone has ran into the same problem i am facing now.... i re-built my motor... but when i was disassembling the block, after i took the crank pulley off, the little gear behind it (that the timing belt lies on) didnt want to come off.. so basically i got it off but it broke... so i had a jdm b16 block in my back yard with that gear on it and to my knowledge the gears a universal meaning they are all the same.. long story short i went to go put that gear on my block and it dosent want to go on for ****.... has anyone ran into this problem and or know if the gears are actually different* i have a 96 gsr block... if that means anything'

there ya go!
You should be able to find a helms manual or a parts guide to whatever you need.
hope it helps.
eh... i actually have one of those already lol... and i know the part i have and or need, but its just the fact that it dosent fit and it should is the part im trying to figure out.. thanks anyway tho
are you sure that there isnt some kinda of snap ring or something that holds that bastard still... I dont imagine it wouldnt just not work... weird.
If you look at that list of crap I sent you. there is a master parts list catalog. I bet if you look at it you can compare the part numbers from one type engine to the next. I also believe that there is a sensor behind the crank pulley. for obd2... I cant remember off the top of my head.

theres a sensor but it has nothing to do with the gear being held on what so ever... or the gear being held on at all.. it wont even slide on to be held on.. its like the gear is too small for the crank itself which is impossible because it came off a block which i had with out a problem..... im thinking somethings wrong with the edge of my crank
does the crank have any burrs or anything on it-maybe go over it with some steel wool and clean the inside of the gear very good-and when youre putting it on, wiggle it back and forth-usually helps me when i have one that doesnt go on very well.

is your motor obd2? I think the gears on them were different due to the crank position sensor.
I had this problem before and I just used a 3 jaw puller to get it off.

yea its obd2... but alot of ppl said the gears were the same... you can actually take the sensor off after you take that gear off... and then put it back on with out it.... except the gear i have is not obd2 nor am i putting that sensor back on (not needed).... so im guessing maybe i should try to get my hands on that gear? (obd2)
