NHRA Street Stock at Atco Feedback
Just looking for some notes or feedback from this past weekend. Seems turnout was the best it has been so far and the times are about where I thought they would be once the series went northeast for the first time this year.
Saul cracked a 12 but wasn't able to back it up, but he's still run the fastest ET and MPH so far this season, so he leads the BFG Challenge, but I expect that to change hands several times before the season is over.
I was looking at the photos that are now posted and noticed an early Civic sedan, Civic (EK?) Hatch (yellow) and a waterpumper VDub competed. I couldn't find any pass information but what was posted on Drag Race Central.
Just wanted to see what you guys thought of the class so far. I personally think it will pick up as the season wears on and you might see full fields very soon.

ya i think it will be a good class, we have had it here in toronto canada last season by the mid point that class had alot of cars if not a full field.
field definatly looked good. i would have loved to have been running myself. there is surely going to be some faster times and higher speeds as the season goes on. more people are finding out about the class and the bounty so i feel this will be a class to watch. in the meantime ill be practicing and waiting for the fall etown event.

I am finishing up my car over the next week or so. It should be ready to go by Denver and I plan on racing all of the remaining NHRA events assuming everything goes well.
I think the class will grow, it is just going to take some time to get the word out.

i was really happy to see saul win a wally, he's a stand up person(really nice guy). i would love to see a 8-10 car field, here at moroso for the august event. i would love for you to come south, for this event roger. i know that there's a chance that the top et/mph car will be down here, since it's jason hunt's car. i'm really looking forward to this event, as well as trying new ways to make the car quicker/faster! saul

That's funny, somebody else told me that Jason's daily "beater". Guess it has a B series in it.
Pretty impressive they threw some drag radials on it and ran it like it was on the street. I think that's the classes intention actually so its a good thing.
I hope turnout continues, it should.

Definately a cool class. The car that won is bad ***...what a sleeper! It sucks that the 6 cylinder VWs get hit with that weight penalty though. GSRs make just about the same power as a 12v VR6 stock for stock and the type Rs and JDM engines make alot more then that. Yeah, the 2 extra cylinders gives it more torque but still...the 4 cylinders just make more power...to be hit with a 300lb weight penalty is ridiculous. I'd race the class but my car can't make the 2650lb. minimum weight.

I'll sit in your spare tire well and yell when to shift. That's fair

Yeah, that is Jason Hunt's beater. I think he told me he bought the car for a couple hundred in PA somewhere. Funniest thing about it is the spinner hub caps he drives it around on.
