Default I changed my oil and valve cover gasket; now the oil light comes on????

I replaced my valve cover and chaned my oil, when I took the valve cover off there was a super build up of dried and burned oil. So I scraped and vacuumed all of it out, but a little fell in the motor. Now after driving for a while the oil light starts flahing and then is solid. What should I do now?

so you scraped something?

so something fell into the motor?

and you are driving it without draining everything?

that's pretty much answer the "why" part.

now, stop driving your car, drain all the oil out and pray you see a little piece somewhere in the filter.

reset the ecu afterward.

STOP DRIVING THE CAR ! ! ! !
Get the oil pan off and clean out the sludge from the oil pump screen.
I've saved several cars by removing the pan and valve cover and blasting every where with degreaser, and high pressure hose. This is the only way to remove all the sludge. Then put it ll back together and use Castrol 10w30 and change the oil every 3000 miles. Thats the story and I'm sticking to it.

i second the DUDE, if you want to fix it right , remove oil pan, and do as he says, also put a new oil filter and i would change oil + filter at first at around 500-1000 miles for the first 2 times then 3k do oil + filter

yes, yes, remove the oil pan and check the screen in the oil pickup tube, as it is probably blocked and not permitting sufficient oil flow to the motor. that is very bad...
