installing straight pipe
i just got an invidia "test pipe" to put on my 96 integra gsr...
...while i was taking off my old cat. i noticed it has two o2 sensors and the test pipe i got only has a hole for 1.. the back one. i was wondering if this is a problem? if not what should i do with the other o2 sensor, just string it up somewhere, or unclip it and take it out..will my check engine light come on if i have just one sensor in??? i didnt install the new straight pipe cus this a-hole in my shop who is head of emissions in connecticut came over screaming at me...so if u guys could let me know what ill be expecting when i put the new one in, that would help me alot. thanks.

Your options are to get an o2 simulator for your extra sensor so you dont get a check, or to just take it to a shop and have to weld in another bung for your sensor.
I would think that running 2 o2 sensors inlin with out a cat would throw a CEL. Please correct me if I'm wrong but I thought that the first reads oxygen content before it enters the cat and the second reads oxygen after. If they both come up to being the same reading I would think that the ecu would thro a code and maybe richen up the mixture to keep the engine safe.
depending on what obd he is obd2a or b. a he will be fine. B he will throw a code. Also you will run rich, and i also hope that you have a resonator.
i do have a resonator, also i only plan on putting the back o2 sensor in, (the one that reads whats coming out of the cat) so what should i do with the other o2 sensor? unplug it? or string it up??

lets get something straight first. a test pipe is different from a staright pipe!. a straight pipe would start from the DP. and go STRAIGHT to the back w/o any resonators, and then it would slightly curve to the left or right and then thats what gave the muffler the "angle" look.
another alternative to an o2 simulator is an anti-fouler. they sell it at kragens. basically, they give u two bungs which are threaded. you have to drill through one of the bungs and screw the two of them together. then u screw the o2 sensor into the anti-fouler bung and then screw it back onto the cat. the bung sits the o2 sensor further out so that it fools ur ecu into thinking that the cat actually works. i havent tried it on my car yet, but i did it on my friends scion. works fine and no CEL.

Wow! That's news to me. I always thought they were the same thing. I thought they were both a straight pipe (just different name) that replaces the cat. Nothing to do with the rest of the exhaust system.

hope u know that ur only going to pick up maybe and i mean maybe 3hp. thats a huge difference isn't it? making all that new extreme power while polluting the earth even more
