so i was driving my girls car the other day...she has a 97 2dr automatic civic...there is a grinding noise coming from the engine when its driving fast....*both city and freeway*...i cant really feel it..it just makes a semi-loud grinding noise...what the hell could it be???

 

Wheel bearing. I doubt the engine is grinding. If it is, I would stay off the highway .

 

Second that on the wheel bearing. Is it driver's/passenger side? Is there any play in the wheel if you jack it up. Search for wheel bearings, see if you can identify some of the same symptoms you're having.
