set up is a stock b16a1 with a 00 head...Injen CA.....DC headers trying to get my car to pass smog but i had codes..20...and 23?whats 23..?(with a stock b16 ECU) and my friend traded me p28 mugen chipped(he has a GSR EG)and now i have none(no codes) and i'm OBD1...WTF is this?

 

You converted the car to obd1 and then you put in the p28... is that what you are saying?

 

yepperZ (also had the b16 ecu in to) then i switche dto the p28 and now codes are gone.

 

not sure why the code 20 disappeared. the p28 doesn't look for knock sensor (code 23).

Like was said, the p28 doesnt look for a knock sensor, so thats why code 23 is gone.

Also, the "Mugen" chip probably has the ELD (Electrial Load Detector) disabled, hence why code 20 is gone.

 

As was mentioned the P28 does not look for a knock sensor.

The mugen program is probably not the best program to try to pass smog on.

MrCRX and 91 civic are right man, the p28 has no knock, and the mugen chip dosent look for eld because the sensor was not on jdm crx sir's.

Get another P28 chip with the stock P30 program with knock and ELD turned off. Swap in the stockish chip, get smogged, and then swap it back.
