I just swapped a jdm obd1 gsr motor into my car, and when it is running, i can hear a suction noise. it sounds like someone is sucking really hard through a small straw. it was coming from underneath the IM so i found it was a small cap on a vacuum nipple. is that normal? ive never heard that on any other GSRs. also, i pulled the vacuum line off of the fpr, and it didnt do anything. there was no vacuum there, but the line is hooked up to the same place it was (i think) when i pulled the motor from the front clip. the line has a Y in it that also goes to the secondary IM valve solenoid....ummm....thingy. sorry, i cant remember the name. and neither works. it idles perfectly, even with the problem with the fpr. im lost. could it be the little valve on the vacuum line? it looks like a check-valve. im very knowledgable about hondas, but i have just started working with my first gsr motor, so this is new to me. oh, and everything seems to be hooked to the little box thats bolted to the bottom of the manifold.
