wiring help for b16a swap
hey whats up guys, pretty new on this forum, first time posting. i recently swapped a b16a into my 89 crx dx from my brothers 91 crx hf. the current motor in my crx is a d16a6 and harness in the engine bay was swapped for an si. i have almost everything done and i came up to a plug from the engine harness that doesn't match up to harness from the car... can anybody clue me in on this and what to do about it. i wasn't sure if it was a difference between an 88-89 or a 90-91 or what. i have a pic here, the two white plugs, thanks
I feel your pain there buddy. I am doing a re-swap on a 1991 honda civic DX.. (dx models had a 2 injector carburator motor).. its a pain because I can't find the wiring specs on that particular car.. and secondly.. I have a connector like you I can't seem to hook up. The little on in your pic.. the 6 pin connector, I do not have a jack for off the cars wiring. The bigger round connector I have but I am not a hundred percent sure what they all do.... or go to. I'm studying that now so I can rewire my whole system. Good luck.
From my experience with CRX's (I've had an 88HF and a 91 Si) , there are subtle differences in wiring. When I had both of those I wasn't as deep into the import world as I am.. I'm still a medium player when it comes to doing my own work, but then I didn't do jack myself. Only things I can remember are with the HF and Si, the harnesses are wired up correctly for PGM-FI multipoint injection... some of the options and placement of sensors were different but I do not believe the changes were drastic enough to "lose" two connections.. of them major.

you are suposed to use to use your dx harness, and convert it from dpfi to mpfi
that green plug goes to all your injectors from the resistor box that little amplifier looking thing. its always best to use the original harness and modify it. its not that hard as you think

According to his pictures and his info... he doesn't seem to have a problem with the green plug because his resister box is there along with the female connector on the box side.. and his green male side is just laying there.. next to two white male side plugs... he is running into part of the problem I am having with my DX dpfi... i know how to convert.. but I am having other troubles so I am just going to rewire my engine into my harness...
I don't understand why there's a problem. You said you had an A6 in there already, so the wiring shouldn't be a factor on the resistor box side. All you need is VTEC, Oil press., knock sensor ( unless using chipped ecu), and the distributor wiring.
