Default Ls V-tech Swap

i have a b18a1 with a b18b1 head on it. it's been rebuilt about 60,000 km ago and i was just wondering how hard it would be to do a LS v-tec Swap, what i might need and maybe a price it might cost me to get it done.

I can't help myself, but don't swap a telephone into your car....it is VTEC not V-tech. I was surprised that no one else said anything!! But do like the others said, search ls/vtec and you will find a wealth of info.

The price would depend on what all you do to the head, how much a head is going to cost you, have it done properly and so on. Searching around will find what you are looking for.

for hte money that ur going to spend to make it reliable to handle the revs ur going to be spending close to 3500 and with 3500 u can buy a whole lot more reliable c1 that already comes Vtec.

the theory behind the ls-vtec is that because of the longer stroke you don't need to rev as high to make power

and the motor can turn high revs just fine, it just will not last as long (but this is true for any motor revs = killing motor slowly)

it's because we're tired of saying it over and over that it's "VTEC" not "V-TECH". he's a noob and he will learn

reliability is achieved with the motor build in lsvtec. people blow up lsvtecs because the blocks are half assed. we build the frank motor set ups as well as our race motors with all oem honda pumps, bearings (no acl bullshit), and we measure all bearing clearances with precision gauges. you can make an lsvtec make good power using all factory honda parts.

Not really true. I spent only about $2000 for my set-up...I peiced everything one by one though. I already had the B16 head, but he's already got the block which will even out in price. And trust me, my set-up isn't a cheapo one...it rocks . Revving to 9k rpm's with no problems...
