Default B16 w/ITR pistons...what would the compression be?

i have a B16 stroked to 1.8L using Eagle 3.335" (84.7mm) crank and im wondering how much compression i'd get if i used the stock B16 rod length with ITR pisons. anyone have a clue? what is the CR of a stock ITR motor?

if you stroked a b16 you really should be the guy to ask.

try searching?

thanks for the page

i tired it out and im gettin 19.83 CR!
i duno how.. im usin stock block with stock rod length, bore and gasket. only thing different are the 11.5:1 Jepistons and the 84.7mm stroke.
is this (http://www.zealautowerks.com/) thing accurate

you going to have a really high compression with a stroker motor if you run stock b16 rods b/c the rod is longer then what it needs to be

by installing a stroker crank your stroke is going to be longer causing you to really need stroker rods which are usally shorter

i think using stock rods are out of the question you will need ealge's stroker rods to go with that crank

cheaper way to do it is the kit we have for the b16A setups.

LS crank, Ls rods, Custom 82mm stroker piston. comes out close to a 1.9L

Dude, if you stroked your B16, you did it with more than just a crank. You would have had to change either the pistons or rods too because if you didn't your pistons would come out of the block.

If you changed the rods then you could use ITR pistons but odds are you put pistons in with your bigger crank. If that's the case then you can't use ITR pistons.

Exactly, you need even shorter pistons as they would stick out of the block.

well...I don't know if you should do that just yet. check out the all-motor forum, as well. there are great engine builders there, as well, that may give even more input to your situation. hope this helps.

if you want 84mm pistons, why not go with the b20 block for cheap, and build up that, it takes LS block aftermaket stuff, since its really just a 2.0 liter LS.

the problem is the low compression, but you said you already have the high comp JE 84mm pistons.... just exchange the eagle crank for an LS one.... ARP stuff to hold it all together....

to prep the block for mating with a vtec head is not hard, look here for a grocery list and how to with pictures:

http://honda.hybrids.jp/b20tech/index.shtml

just throwing that one out there. and you could turn around and sell that b16 block to someone. or it seems you could keep it and just get the special rods/pistons youd need to make it work, but i know nothing about that. all the research i did was on the b20vtec since thats what im doing to my car next.

some good info here in the dyno charts about what works and what doesnt:

http://www.importreview.com/d_2.0.html

lastly, if you do decide to ditch those pistons... throw me a PM

whatever you do, good luck!

I've been playing with the idea of a stroker motor too.
There's a fella on this site selling pistons that will work with an LS crank.
I don't know what rods his "kit" calls for but if you find his thread, it should say.
Basically you'll be building an LS Vtec inside a B16 block which is ~7mm shorter than a B18/20/C1/C5.
This seems like the cheapest route to go. You could find an LS/CRV crank for cheap, redo some used rods with ARPs and buy these new pistons.
You could also maybe trade your Eagle B16+ crank for an Eagle LS/CRV crank if you thought it would be a better crank than a stock LS.

i think ill just stick with stock crank. besides, atleast i've got the basics down. if i ever need an upgrade, no worries coz my ignition, air, and fuel problems are taken care of. the new radiator should help keep things cool tho. thanks for all the help guys
