I been itching to post this DC2: Project Build up, from the ground up! (56k, you can try)
This is a DC2 my friend (the owner) and i have been building for the last 5 months. when he got it, it was a straight gsr shell. it had most of the interior panels and abs. the owner had a rhd front clip with a jdm dc2 front end that supplied all the parts. we got to work on the front end by drilling out the oem spot welds off the gsr and attached the core support off the RHD. we assembled the tranny head and block and then dropped that sucker in and only recently have i been taking pictures and documenting the rest of the build up. currently, autopilots and i are taking care of the body work, and there was A LOT of work needed.
the owner wishes to remain anonymous so if you know who's car this is, please respect the owners request
here is how she sat a couple months ago. interior was bare and messy

motor in but we were missing some cam cap bolts

ITR cams about to go in

rad support, bumper support, headlights and front mount oil cooler in

i was in the middle of re-routing wires

painted hx's

some more wire hiding

moooogen

more mooooooooogen!

the rhd clip that supplied all the parts, thanks japan!

completely stripped

it turns out the previous owner had this car painted maybe 3-4 times so the paint was so thick and hard to knock down to the primer. the rear 4x114's finally in

routing the oil cooler lines with sleeping beauty

oil cooler lines in

fittings galore

the car still retains its a/c and power steering and here is a pic prior to startup

and she starts up just fine, body work is underway and it should be painted within next month
stay tuned for the next BIG UPDATE

very cool...but why didn't you put the motor in after doing bodywork so you could do a full motor bay paint job?

yeah, we should have but it wasn't an option at the time, that can always be done some other time if my friend wishes, its a project on its own.

no, the fuse box still remains in tact. the only wires hidden are, a/c, healights, radiator fan, and horn, and the main harness plugs near both shock towers
thanks for the comments so far

Real sweet man. Props to your buddy and yourself. I wish I had the knowledge, time, and money to do something like this. It must feel really satisfying
