Default stuck on poly front bushing install

i got the 8 piece energy suspension poly bushing set to replace my worn out ones on my 92 civic hatch. i got the top 2 for the upper control arms out, but i cant undo the lower front bushing, and have not tried the lower rear bushing (need to buy big enough wrench).

the bolt for the lower front control arm moves fairly easily, but it just spins in place and wont unthread. it seems to me that there is a nut on the inside or something, but i cant see a place to get a wrench in there. the previous owner installed a lower tie bar under the same bolt, so he must have gotten in off at some point.

anyone know how to do this?

this is a superstreetonline.com pic of the bushing in question on a 2000 civic. it seems in that car that you can get a wrench on the other side, but my 92 is different.

holy **** man if that bolt keeps spinning ur fucked.
theres a nut in the back thats spot welded in inside there. if it keeps spinning thats not good...never use an impact gun on that bolt thats what will happen.

Sounds like it's time to get yourself a replacment crossmember...

I suppose you could cut a hole in your subframe to get to that nut, but you would definently want t0 weld that hole back up once your done...

Sorry but that's incorrect. It's the opposite ; never take that bolt off without an impact. Actually never do any suspension work without an impact. Breaker bars do just that, they break stuff.

What happened is you probably twisted the back nut off with whatever you were using to undo it. I've seen it happen many times. Now you pretty much don't have a choice but to cut a window in your subframe to reach the nut with a wrench and then weld it back up (the nut and the window). Also, make sure to put anti-seize on everything.

A little tip if you don't have an impact and insist on doing suspension work yourself ; take a closed end wrench, put it on the bolt and hit on it with a hammer while you pull. Also, don't pull in a smooth motion, you have to jerk it or else you get what just happened here.

im sure theres an easier way. You guys are making a big deal out of it for no reason. When I'm better rested and not passing out from exhaustion, I'll write a real reply.

Sounds like the sleeve is rusted to the bolt.
