Default *Pistons* P30 vs USDM P73

Just wondering on what piston I should use for my GSR build. I plan on gettin a GSR block and slappin on my B16 head with CTR cams. I have a set of USDM ITR pistons in my room now. I was planning on using them to give me a compression of 10.7 with a 2 layer head gasket.

Now, my boy is thinking of sellin his P30s with would yeild me about 11.5 with a 2 layer head gasket.

Common sense would tell me to run the higher comp piston since 11.5 is like the sweet spot for comp for a nice daily driver, but my question is....would the teflon coating that comes with the ITRs be any kind of benifit over the extra compression or no?

Im sure everyone is going to say go with the extra compression, witch is understandable, but I just wanted some more insight and thoughts.

I have stock GSR with 220K miles, stock pistons, no coatings, running strong.

Yes maybe they help, but in the long run, who cares?

You already have the type r piston....put them in. The coating reduces friction. The compression is not going to make hardly any difference. Get the bottom end buttoned up with those and pay more attention to stuff like a nice header and tuning.

It's not like it'd be hard to have a set of P30's coated.
