Nitrogen filled tires have a few advantages over conventional air filled tires. First, every tire loses air through the layers of rubber over time. This is called "air permeation". This is where Nitrogen has the edge...
[1] Nitrogen molecules are bigger than oxygen (the main component of 'air') so they do not escape from the tire as quickly. To put it simply, your tires retain pressure better when filled with nitrogen...and a properly inflated tire gets better fuel economy and is less likely to fail than an underinflated tire.
[2] Nitrogen is an inert gas, compared to oxygen which is corrosive. As air permeates through your tires over time, the oxygen will begin to corrode the steel belts as it leaves the tire. Nitrogen is not corrosive and will improve the overall durability of your tires.

If you want to put Nitrogen in your tires for daily driving, go for it. I doubt you'll notice a difference, but you'll have the satisfaction of knowing that your tires are losing pressure less quickly than everyone else's, haha.
Let me know if I've answered your question

as of right now...
i believe that Costco Tire Center is the ONLY tire place that is using nitrogen to fill their tires
unfortunately...you have to have purchased your tires at costco to have ur tires filled with nitrogen

new? no i don't think so, maybe to you though.

We are testing it it right now.....but with 560+ stores, it takes some time
I like it, especially for track days as the temps don't change as much.
the first time I went to Buttonwillow, I started @ 40psi and ended with 41psi

F1, Nascar, IRL to name a few have known about it for a while (years actually). Another interesting side effect is because Nitrogen is inert, it does not expand like normal air and drive the internal pressure up inside the tire. So as the tire heats up, the rubber heats up to improve grip, but the pressure doent go up from 40 lbs to 50 like you normally see doing track or AutoX events. The new Kosei rims have 2 valve stems to allow almost complete evacuation of old air out of the tire to let it fill completely with nitrogen.
