Default itr intake cam ?'s

i got a set of jdm itr cams. i traded my nitrous for them awhile back and i decided to throw them in until i go turbo in the winter. i dont really wanna buy bigger valve springs for the exhuast side since i heard that the exhuast side doenst make much hp in the gsr and the cams may not be in but a couple months anyways. is this true? would it make a big diffrence to run both? i have heard a few diffrent things and want to know before i put just the intake in and be totally dissatified. if its worth it to spend a hundred extra bucks ill do it. but thats just $ that i can put towords a turbo kit

if you have both intake and exhaust...just install both...but don't rev past the factory redline...

some turbo guys use itr/ctr intake and a gsr exhaust combo's. You probably won't notice too much of a difference unless you get it tuned afterwards

The itr exhaust cam has the same specs as the gsr exhaust cam im pretty sure. They are pretty much the same. The intake cam is the one that makes the difference. I dont know what the specs are on 98-99 ITR Intake cams (how much youre really gaining from swapping) but they changed on the 00-01 ITR to almost the same specs as the CTR intake cam. So I hope you picked up a ITR 00-01 intake cam for better results. Valve springs do not need to be changed as long as youre not going over GSR redline. If you want to rev like the ITR youre going to need to swap for an ITR valvetrain. And yes you need to tune it. If you dont youre not going to feel a difference swapping them.

so some cam gears should do the trick along with some dyno time?

My mistake. GSR exhaust cam is different. Its the 00-01 ITR and CTR exhaust cam which is the same. I havent seen a side by side dyno to show any difference in power. Everyone here says its minimal. The intake cam is the one that really makes the difference though. Everything else still applies. dyno and tune is necessary.

cam gears, fuel pressure regulator and at least a vafc + dyno time.

CTR intake cam made a difference to my car but it wasn't until I tuned it w/ vafc, fpr, S2 cam gears & a lil change on the timing.

so if u don't Tune it, you won't see a big difference.

I put down 164whp plus the other regular bolt on's

It will all come down to Tuning it
