Default Brake pad problem.....i think

i'm replacing the brake pads all around on my girls DA. So i get the pads of the front driver side and go to put the new ones in, and they don't fit snugly in there. They'll just fall out if i let the pad go.

so is this the wrong size? possibly for a 94+??

is there a difference from G2's and G3 brake pads??

thanks for the help in advance

the pads are correct, i went to parts store and checked.

i picked up new retaining clips and they seem a little more snug, but not very at all.

my question now is that if they aren't snug will it cause a problem once they're on or will it be ok just as long as they get on.

i dont really know the answer, but for stuff like brakes, timing belt, anything major i use oem dealer. you pay more, but you know its for the car. good luck

i would never take my car to the dealer for brakes lol. but i found the problem.....the retaining clip on the driver side was apparently really old and had almost rusted away. i put the new ones in on top and bottom and it went in snug.

downside for tonite is that the driverside caliper was a bitch to push the piston back in, thus leaving me to believe that it's ****. Luckily i have a spare caliper for every side.

So now it's almost midnight and i have to replace a caliper.....yay for work at 8 tomorrow morning.

just take a big wrench, open up the bleeder screw and push the piston back in. u can use a 2x4 if u wanna protect the piston or something like that.

yeah, that doesnt mean its bad, just lay something across it to protect it and bang it in, force it in, whatever it takes, but it should go back in... just disconnect the brake line, thats what i did for my friends hatch, and eventually i got the piston back in...
