welding job on front end conversion
i have a 95 civic hb with a 95 integra front end conversion
the guys that did the welding and fabrication told me that it would not be able to handle a motor with alot of torque.
i already have a 97 ls in it w/50k miles and it is VERY "torquey" as it is. i am planning on getting a new motor this summer and would like to have a h22 or jdm accord sirt motor but have heard negative things from ppl who know about front end conversions.
my question is that i need to know if anyone else knows what a front end conversion can handle as far as torque and hp. If you know anything about this conversion, then you know that the fenders and the core support have both been cut and rewelded to fit the car. knowing this, do you think there is any harm in a more powerful swap?
i had a friend with the same conversion that had a gsr with some other mods but i didnt know if there was anyone with some knowledge about how much a conversion could handle.
any other motor suggestions for going all motor w/ the front end conversion?

well given that the people who welded it in were qualified to do so...it should be at least as strong, if not stronger than the stock spot welds that held the original piece on. You could also find someone who could weld some gussets here and there to give the front end a little more rigidity if youre really worried about it; that, along with a good strut bar should provide plenty of structural integrity to support a "torquey" engine. And hopefully the ones who welded your new support in werent beginners who think they can weld with the best of them, which seems to be the trend nowadays.
