Hey whats up, Im chris im new to honda tech.

I have a few questions about my car. It is a 1996 honda accord lx 4 door 4cyl 5 speed.

my car came with a wood grain dash and i was wondering if that was stock or what.

also my car did not come with keyless entry and i was wondering if it was pre wired or if alot of accord's came with it in 1996. If so would you know where to pick up a remote?

For my 96 I bough a Crime Guard Keyless entry system as my car didn't come with it. I don't know if it is pre wired or not for the factory. I spliced into the wires to install this one. I don't know if the wood grain was an option or not.

 

Lotta remotes..uh..viper..clifford..and compustar to name a few.

 

For the wood grain that shouldn't be stock albeit an option its ugly IMO. You can swap out from another 96-97 accord dash if you like. For the keyless entry part your car should come with power locks and actuators and most keyless systems (found at car audio stores) would be more economical for you...unless you feel like dishing out 300 plus for dealer spec keyless entry.

Probably around 100-200$, but that is just pure speculation because I don't know the shops around where you live and I have no idea how much they charge for the units and installation.

 

Mine was $70 I think I would guess around $50 to install. I got mine from a family member that works at the store so got it cheaper and isntalled it myself in an hour or two. I just ordered another one because I need another remote.
