GC spring rates
im lookin towards getting me some GC coilovers and i heard that when you order then you can choose the spring rate. is the standard rate 380F/280R (P/P)? what are my other options as far as the rates? any suggestions other than GC?
If your not sure, just call ground control and tell them what you want from your car. They can recomend spring rates to fit your needs, and you will be very happy...
They can get ANY spring rate & length that eibach makes...

ask them if they will do 1500/3000 springrates for u. i want to see what they will say. are you going to autox or RR ur car? if not, stock rates will be fine for u.

Then I would go with the rates GC recommends. You could always alter the rates down the road.

alrite coolcool. thanks. ill just see what they recommend. what about shocks for someone in my situation? ive been leaning towards illuminas or yellows. whats the price difference and some pros and cons of both?
Go with the Koni's. I've used both over the years and the Koni's really last.
GC makes a kit specific to the Koni's so you should buy them at the same time so you have a matched kit.

Its the stiffness value of the spring. Measured in force per unit length.
US usually measures it in pounds per inch.
So, for a 500 lb/in spring, it takes 500 pounds of force to compress the spring one inch. And it'll take 1000 lbs to compress it two inches.
A 1000 lb/in spring will only compress one inch for the 1000 applied load.
